Turlock

Susan was born in Persia (Iran) on May 23, 1933 and died in Citrus Heights, CA Sept. 10, 2011.   She came to the United States in the spring of 1953.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at Roosevelt University.  She taught math and science in the United States, Thailand, and Iran.
Mrs. Worthen was a former Turlock resident for 30 years.  During that time, she was a Real Estate Broker and Owned Susan Worthen Realty for many years.  She was active in the Assyrian American Civic Club and her positions included board member, Ladies Auxiliary President, and Western Regional Director.  She enjoyed Crossword puzzles, art, and world travel (visited over 40 countries)
Preceded in death by husband Lee Worthen, her parents Issac and Nano Golpashin, and brother Dr. Sargon Golpashin.   She is survived by her daughter Anna Allison Powell, son-in-law Frank, and beloved granddaughter Alexandra, her siblings Shamiran Prater of Tennessee, Ed Golpashin of Tennessee, Freida Oshalim of New York, Nellie Merritt of Georgia, Nora Maghsoodpour of California, Wilson Golpashin of California.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 5 to 7pm at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. in Turlock.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17th at 11 AM at Turlock Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.  A Luncheon will follow at Larsa Banquet Hall 2107 E. Monte Vista Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California or to St. John's Assyrian Presbyterian Church Outreach Fund.
