Virginia Lee Whitaker, a former California resident most recently of Yale, passed away on Aug. 21 at the age of 77 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Yale, Okla.  Burial will be held in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Calif.
The daughter of the late James Lander Ware and Osie Bell (Smith) Ware, Virginia was born on May 29, 1933 in Clarita, Okla.
After graduating from high school, Virginia was united in marriage to John Joseph Whitaker and to this union four children, Patty, Cindi, Karen, and Scotty were born.  Following the death of her husband in 1960, Virginia was a homemaker and real estate entrepreneur in California.  She was proud to be a Gold Star Wife and enjoyed traveling the world in her spare time.
Survivors include daughters, Patty Danyeur and Cindi Anson and her husband, Dennis, of Hilmar; brother, John Ware and his wife, Helen, of California; grandchildren, Ben Danyeur, Luke Danyeur, and Katie Anson; great grandchildren, Sidney, Shelby, Hunter, Callan and Chloe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by son, Scotty; infant daughter, Karen; brother, F.A. Ware; and sisters, Winnie Freeman, Gurtha Hyde and Bessie Mefford.
