Wayne C. Conner, 76, of Tracy, was enjoying himself on a family camping trip in Colorado when he became suddenly ill and passed away on Monday, July 19. Mr. Conner was a native of Turlock. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Tracy Skyliners, Society of Antique Modelers (SAM), and Model Engine Collectors Association (MECA). Mr. Conner worked at Lawrence Livermore Lab for 34 years until he retired in 1991. Mr. Conner enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Dorris Conner of Turlock; wife of 47 years, Charlotte Conner of Tracy; children, Debra (Joel) Conner Gill of Parker, Colo. and Donald W. Conner of Centennial, Colo.; sisters, Marlene (Gene) Barber of Yuba City and Elaine Rice of Turlock; three grandchildren; and extended family, Patricia Selna, Charlie (Lena) Selna, Jim (Helen) Noah, all of Tracy. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Conner.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 23 at Tracy Public Cemetery.
