Winford Sweeten, 71, of Denair, passed away on Tuesday at Emanuel Medical Center.
He was born and raised in Oklahoma. Winford married Clara Box in 1958. He lived in San Juan Bautista, Calif. and the Turlock area. He then settled in Denair. He loved gardening, farming, camping and fishing.
Winford is survived by his children, Johnny Ray Sweeten of Ceres, Christina Sweeten of Turlock and Gary Sweeten of Denair; sister, Wanda Harte; brother, Leland Sweeten; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Clara Jo Sweeten; children, Kathy Sweeten and Anthony Eugene Sweeten; and three brothers.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17 at Allen Mortuary.
