Dear Editor,
The Stanislaus County Farm Bureau Board of Directors proudly endorses Joe Alamo and Ron Macedo for seats on the Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors.
Water is our most important resource and powers our economic engine. When our farmers and ranchers prosper, our local communities prosper and our quality of life is enhanced. Agriculture injects nearly $10 billion into our local economies directly from crops and jobs in allied industries.
The Turlock Irrigation District is one of the most important local agencies that deal with our economic future. TID is charged with protecting our water rights and providing a secure and reliable supply of water and energy to its members. In these challenging times, TID does this very well. This is more important than ever before as other interests seek to reduce our water rights and redirect our limited water supply.
Please join the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau in supporting Joe Alamo, a dairyman, in District 3 and Ron Macedo, a farmer, in District 5. They are committed to preserving the water rights and economic future of all of the members of TID.
