Recently we, and the Turlock community, lost two of the nicest, most giving people we had ever met. This couple donated many hours of service here and died within weeks of each other. Shirley and Roger will be warmly remembered by everyone who knew them.
A funeral makes us think about the people in our lives. There is a heartfelt loss when those we care about are gone. At a memorial we always hear kind, caring, sometimes humorous words about the departed. But, think about it. Did we tell them how much of an impression they made just by being themselves? If our feelings were difficult to put into words, could we have found some ways to make them smile? Could we have mailed a card, made a phone call or simply sent an e-mail?
We need to find ways today to show our family and friends that they are appreciated because tomorrow they might not hear words, smell flowers or see who attended their memorial. Tell them now.
