Reynolds will bring back the good old days of CSUS basketball

I commend and support (California State University, Stanislaus President Hamid Shirvani and Dr. Milt Richard’s) decision to hire Larry Reynolds as the new CSUS Head Basketball Coach. I have known Larry for over 35 years and can personally attest to his qualifications both as a basketball coach and a quality person. You have selected an outstanding individual to lead your student athletes and your basketball program to great heights.
I am writing this “Letter to the Editor” in anticipation that some of the members of the college community and the Turlock community at large will remember the “good old days” of the early ‘80s. Cal State Stanislaus basketball was very visible during those years and, indeed, brought spirit, camaraderie, and a “togetherness” that was remarkable. I was a small part of that era, but I would like to suggest that with Larry Reynolds at the helm, these “old days” can be regenerated. I predict that with the support of the college and the community, Warrior gym will be filled to the brim and the excitement will be unparalleled.
I encourage both the college community and the Turlock/Modesto community to get behind Larry. He is a proven winner and will serve CSUS and the region proud.
