Marina Ghabbour and Aman Hundal will have a chance to become All-Americans for the second time this season. The middle distance runners will be joined by Denali Foldager and Channing Wilson when the Warriors travel to compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
The national championships are May 23-25 in Pueblo, Colo., on the campus of Colorado State University Pueblo's DeRose Thunderbowl.
Ghabbour and Hundal are both members of the distance medley relay team that finished second at the indoor championships in March. They will be going for their second All-American finish this time outdoors. Ghabbour is the fifth seed in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:24.88. Hundal has the fourth best time in the nation in the 800-meter run in 2:11.25.
Foldager, who has experience running at the cross country championships, will compete in the 3000-meter steeplechase with the sixth best time (10:52.07) in Division II.
Joining the middle distance runners is Wilson, who will throw the javelin. She won the CCAA championship with a toss of 43.94 meters (144'-1").
Terrance Ellis, Dawson Vorderbruegge and Caleb Monticalvo are all returning for another All-American finish for the Warrior men and they will be joined by two other teammates at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Ellis is running in the 800-meter run with a seed time of 1:50.66 and Vorderbruegge's season-best time in the 1500-meter run is 3:48.03.
Pole vaulter Monticalvo makes his encore return to Colorado this time with a seasonal best clearance of 5.05 meters (16'-6 3/4")
Vorderbruegge, last year's Elite 89 winner at the championships, will have an opportunity to receive the honor once again.
Joining the trio of All-Americans are throwers Thomas Gesser and Josh Uikilifi. Gesser, the CCAA Champion in the hammer throw, enters with a mark of 58.29 meters (191'-3") while Uikilifi will compete in the shot put. Uikilifi won the conference champion in the event. His season best mark is 18.02 meters (59'-1 1/2").
