Stanislaus blasts Humboldt State 4-0

Briana McClain and Alexia Poon got the scoring going and Karenee Demery added two more goals as the Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team blasted Humboldt State, 4-0, on Friday in Arcata.
With the win, the Warriors continue to lead the CCAA North with 9-2 overall and 7-2 CCAA records. Stanislaus is just ahead of San Francisco State at 6-2-1 in conference play. HSU dropped to 2-9, 2-7 CCAA.
McClain found the net first on Friday at 23:00 with Demery assisting on the score. Alexia Poon then converted on a penalty kick at 27:39 for a 2-0 Warriors lead at the break.
After the intermission, conference scoring leader Demery added two more goals to her totals with her 11th and 12th score of her freshman season.
Demery's goal in the 59th minute was assisted by Emily Relles and Marissa Dunaway. She was then helped by Shelby Cargile with her goal at 61:46.
The Warriors edged the Lumberjacks 15-14 but had a 9-4 advantage on shots on goal. 

The Warriors will next take on Sonoma State on Sunday.
