Four starters scored in double figures and Ray Mitchell turned in another double-double performance as the Warriors defeated previous unbeaten Cal Baptist, 88-78.
At the Coyotes Holiday Classic hosted by Cal State San Bernardino inside Citizens Business Bank Arena, the Warriors made it three victories in a row Tuesday afternoon as they improved to 4-3 overall.
The Warriors were led by Marcus Walters' 19-point night as he made 7 of 10 field goal attempts including a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arch. Mitchell knocked in his second straight double-double game with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Mitchell had 19 points and 10 rebounds in Monday's win over Pacifica.
Sam Marcus also had a stellar night offensively with 16 points while handing off nine assists. On defense he had two steals and even a blocked shot. Nick Hodge dominated the inside with six buckets for 15 points. Hodge also blocked three shots.
Cal Baptist, which entered the week at 6-0, has dropped two straight after losing to Cal State San Bernardino on Monday. Cal State San Bernardino beat CBU, 71-69, on Monday.
Against the Warriors, all five Lancer starters scored more than 10 points but their bench totaled eight.
The Cal State Stanislaus bench out-played the Lancers with Phil Ward scoring 11 points and Taylor Bell eight. Wes Bartole chipped in off the bench with six points and six rebounds.
The Warriors used a strong first half to build a 41-28 lead. They jumped out to an 19-4 lead to start the game and led by as many as 16, on a Ward layup with 3:26 to go until halftime.
Cal State Stanislaus will take its three-game winning streak into the holiday break before hosting Chico State at 7 p.m. on Dec. 29 inside Fitzpatrick Arena.
