The Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer program continues to succeed, not only on the field but also excelling in the classrooms as a group. The Warriors received another Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Additionally, for the first time in program history, Karenee Demery was named to the NSCAA Women's College Division Scholar All-America first team.
Demery, who was named an All-American as a forward for the third time in November, was also named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America first team last month. Demery posted a 3.72 GPA as a business major to go along with her 19 goals scored during the 2012 season.
For the 2011-12 team, Cal State Stanislaus posted a combined grade point average of 3.28. It is the fifth time in the last six years that the Warriors have received this honor.
Demery and Bernie Bettencourt were also named to the NSCAA Scholar All-West Region first and second teams, respectively.
