As high school winter sports prepare to start their respective league runs, I couldn't fully embrace this year's basketball and wrestling seasons without first taking a look back at the prep football season.
2015 was a year that saw Hilmar fight its way into a Section Championship appearance, their second in three years. It was a year where Turlock High made history by defeating Pitman in back-to-back Harvest Bowls for the first time ever.
The Journal launched the third season of its ‘Blitz’ video series, reaching out to new audiences each week.
Although only half of the local high school teams saw winning seasons, there were a number of standout performers on each squad.
Ranging from four different divisions, all six schools — Turlock, Pitman, Turlock Christian, Denair, Hilmar and Delhi — were had sensational players that made it really exciting for us to watch them play ball on Friday nights.
So with that being said, I think it is time that we recognize those who made my personal All-Journal Football Team:
