Pitman soccer began its Central California Conference play with a 3-2 win over Golden Valley after traveling to Merced to square off against the Cougars.

The Pride were up 3-0 at half after Ricky Ramirez, Miguel and Jonathan Galdamez each tallied a goal for Pitman.

In the second half the Pride settled down a bit and allowed the Cougars to add on to scores to cut the deficit to 3-2, but the Pride held on for their first league win of the year.

With the win, the Pride are now 6-3-2 overall and 1-0 in the CCC.

“Over-relaxed second half,” said Pitman head coach Oscar Mercado about their second half performance.

Pitman will host Atwater on Thursday with the game set to begin at 4 p.m.
