Just before meeting up with Turlock High in that annual crosstown rival clash on the softball field, the Pitman Pride downed Golden Valley High 6-1 on Thursday.

Three errors by the Cougars of GV helped the Pride take advantage of a struggling team who is now 1-6 overall for the season.

A total of three errors were committed by GV to the Pride’s lone error. Pitman outhit the Cougars 9 to 3.

It was the Pride who would score first and last after tacking on the first run in the top of the second inning followed by a two-run third.

The lone run for GV would come in the fourth, but that would be it as the Pride rallied their way into their sixth victory of the year and are now 6-5 overall heading into Tuesday’s CCC clash at home against Turlock High' which is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
