Pitman Girls Cross Country takes a break to pose for a picture after spending the afternoon preparing and serving meals at Turlock Gospel Mission.  Coach Tim Macabee said this was the team's first time this season donating time to Turlock Gospel Mission.

“This was my life growing up and so part of me is to have these kids understand that when we're training just for gold medals it's useful, but when we actually can train and give up our time to some people who really need it you win more than just first place."

Pitman freshman Aberdeen Mcleod said the biggest reward for her coming and giving back was showing kindness to others.

"Being able to help people in need, feeding people just makes me happy to see them eat and get well," said Pitman senior Gabriel Mejia.

The Pride prepared and served pasta, mushrooms and chicken and pumpkin pie. Coach Macabee plans on bring the boys team this Friday to donate time as well.
