Turlock girls polo wins fifth league game

The Turlock High girls water polo team fired up the offensive attack and continued their streak of 10-plus goals scored after Thursday's Central California Conference, 10-5, win over Buhach Colony.

Tuesday's game against Golden Valley marked the first game in the second round of CCC play and the Bulldogs prevailed with a one goal victory, 11-10, behind Karissa Roof's seven goal effort along with seven steals.

Allison Serratos scored two goals, four assists and three steals while goalkeeper Alethia Puentes saved six and added one steal in the Tuesday win.

Turlock came back to win their fifth league game over Buhach after Puentes tacked on nine saves and Sarah Phillips scored a team-high four goals and three steals on Thursday.

The Bulldogs will next take on the Falcons of Atwater in a road contest at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
