Turlock High welcomed Atwater High to the Turlock Country Club on Thursday for the final conference golf matchup of the season. The Bulldogs defeated the Falcons 257-222, remaining undefeated and in high spirits as they prepare for Monday’s CCC Golf Championship.

Teo Chiesa, who had consistently produced the lowest scores in the CCC, once again finished the day with an impressive performance, scoring a 39. Tyler Gomes also had a good day on the course, finishing with a score of 42.

With 10 straight conference wins Turlock will enter the CCC Golf Championship five points ahead of second place Golden Valley High, meaning that even if the Bulldogs finished in last place they would still be co-champions but Turlock’s head coach Jason Boswell has no plans on settling for anything less than first place.

“With our first place finish in the mid season tournament it’s a big opportunity to finish in first at the championship tournament,” Boswell said. “They understand it would be something special, especially for our seniors.”

With the CCC title all but theirs, Turlock’s focus is also on the looming divisional tournament. Although a first place finish on Monday is their main priority the Bulldogs will still have their potential divisional foes on their mind.

“We want to finish strong,” Boswell said. “We want to make our scores competitive with who we’re going to face in divisional.”

The CCC Golf Championship will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Stevinson on Monday.
