Kevin Kramer had a good-enough showing at the USA Baseball trials to make the cut for the U16 National Team late Friday night.
Next stop: Taiwan.
The Turlock High junior and 17 other players are flying across the ocean today to play against international competition at Intercontinental Stadium in Taichung, Taiwan. The U.S.’s first game is against Chinese Taipei at 7 p.m. on Monday locally, as Kramer and his teammates will continue their representation until mid-September.
Kramer went through a handful of auditions this week in Southern California, playing in four trial games against prospects from across the country. He started all four games as the second baseman or shortstop, while batting .461 at the plate.
His best highlight came on Monday, when Kramer, who played for the Red Team, finished 4-for-5 in a 6-4 rout over the Blue Team.
