Stanislaus athletes earn weekly honors

Cal State Stanislaus junior Denali Foldager was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association's Female Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Stanislaus women’s soccer freshman Karenee Demery has been selected as the CCAA’s top player for her sport. The announcements were made this week.
Foldager, a junior from Seward, Alaska, finished first at the Bronco Preview Meet in Whittier to lead the Cal State Stanislaus women's cross country team to a victory on Saturday. Foldager ran the 6,000-meter course in a career-best time of 22:08.2, edging twin sister Rubye Elhard who clocked 22:10.4 to finish second.
For the second time this season, Demery earned the weekly honor in women’s soccer.Demery, a freshman from Merced, had a big offensive weekend as she totaled eight points (3 goals, 2 assists) in a pair of wins over Cal State Monterey Bay and San Francisco State.During a 3-1 win over Cal State Monterey Bay, Demery contributed a goal and two assists. In a battle of CCAA Tournament hopefuls on Sunday, she scored two goals in helping the Warriors to a 4-1 victory over San Francisco State.
