It was a tough night for the Turlock National Little League Majors on Tuesday at Soderquist Park, as the 12 year olds watched Madera National overpower them with hits and runs in three big innings.

It spelled doom for Turlock National, which lost 20-7 to end the All-Stars season.

Madera National will play Turlock American today at 7 p.m. for the championship.

On Tuesday night, things looked good for Turlock National at the start. The players jumped out to five quick runs at the top of the first inning on three hits, one error and some slick base-running. Leadoff hitter Daren Finney got on base on a throwing error, eventually leading to the game's first run.

That was followed by scores from Colton Horner, Zach Wichman, Jordan Lintz and Matt Carrigg — with Horner turning in an RBI single.

But the Madera National players quickly responded by scoring seven runs in the second to own an 8-5 lead. They continued to dominate, with five runs in the third and six more at the top of the sixth for some insurance. Before that, Austin Ford slammed two three-run home runs to keep Madera National in control.

It was all too much for Turlock National. Both Carrigg and Wichman finished with two runs scored.
