A pregnant woman and her boyfriend were attacked by an unknown woman while walking in Turlock before dawn Tuesday.
The unprovoked attack resulted in the pregnant woman getting pepper spray in her face when the boyfriend’s attempt to ward off the attacker had the unintended consequence of getting his girlfriend.
The attack was reported shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of N. Golden State Boulevard.
The pair had been walking when they were approached by a woman riding a beach cruiser bicycle. For some unknown reason, the woman starting attacking the pregnant woman.
The boyfriend pulled out his pepper spray and used it against the attacker, who fled the area on her bicycle. Unfortunately, his efforts also got his girlfriend hit with pepper spray, said Turlock Police Sgt. Russ Holeman.
The pregnant woman was treated by American Medical Response and released.
The suspect was not known to the two individuals. The only description of the attacker was that she was a white adult on a beach cruiser bicycle.
