TPD crime scene

A woman reported she was kicked and beaten by an unknown man while at a Turlock bar Sunday night.

The woman’s injuries from the attack were not life-threatening. She received medical treatment at the scene.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday the Turlock Police Department received a report of a large fight happening outside La Cantina, a bar located at 142 S. First Street. The caller stated some individuals involved in the fight were throwing beer bottles.

The first officers to arrive at the bar did not find anyone fighting, but they did find a 23-year-old woman who reported she had just been assaulted, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The victim told the officers she had been sitting at the bar when a man came over and pulled her off of her barstool.

The woman described being kicked repeatedly in the face, as well as having a beer bottle thrown at her face, Lewis said.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

The woman told officers she did not know the man who attacked her.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a dark complexion. He was tall with a thin build and was wearing a blue baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact the police department at 668-5550.
