The Turlock Police Department is investigating a bank robbery from Friday afternoon.

At 2:31 p.m. Friday the department was notified of a robbery at the West America Bank at 2891 Geer Rd.

There were a couple minutes between when the robbery happened and when it was reported, so that when officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the area, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male around 25 to 30 years old. It’s believed he fled in a dark colored vehicle, possibly a Ford Mustang, last seen headed north on Geer.

The robber said he had a gun, but one was not seen, Parmley said.
