The Merced County Sheriff’s Department is searching for three suspects that burglarized the construction site of a new restaurant opening in Ballico.

The break-in occurred in the early morning hours of Aug. 25 in the 11000 block of N. Santa Fe Drive. The location will soon be the home of Tri Tipery, a new restaurant that is part of Ag Link and currently under construction.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Department said the burglars broke into a contractor’s trailer at the site and building being remodeled for the restaurant.

Surveillance video captured footage of the suspects walking around the site and taking numerous tools and materials. The suspects also walked around the Ag Link building and opened cargo containers. Investigators believe the suspects were communicating with one another over walkie-talkies and that possibly a fourth suspect — a driver — was in the nearby area.

Ag Link is a company that sources out to local growers to supply fresh produce to school children.

Anyone with information about this incident or that can identify the suspects in these photos can contact the Merced County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division on Facebook or call them at 385-7472 or 385-7445. Information can be kept confidential.
