A 25-year-old Turlock man was stopped by the California Highway Patrol – Modesto on Tuesday morning after allegedly riding his Kawasaki motorcycle at extreme speeds on Highway 99.
CHP officials said the motorcycle had fled from officers multiple times over the past two months, reaching speeds in excess of 150 mph. It had also been spotted by motorists traveling at dangerous speeds during morning commutes.
The rider was pulled over during a speed enforcement stop, ending what CHP described as a pattern of reckless behavior. Officers credited “patience and good police work” for bringing the situation to a safe resolution.
Authorities said they hope the man uses the encounter as a turning point and recognizes the danger he posed to himself and others.
