Collision on Golden State injures one
crash

A 67-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after running a red light and causing a two-car collision, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Golden State Boulevard and W. Hawkeye Avenue.

The woman was driving a GMC pickup truck that was northbound on Golden State Boulevard. She was turning left onto W. Hawkeye Avenue, but made the turn on a red light and struck a Jeep that was headed south on Golden State Boulevard.

The woman sustained potentially life-threatening injuries, according to the police report. She was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The driver of the Jeep, a 45-year-old man, did not suffer any serious injuries.

The collision is being investigated by the Major Accident Investigation Team.
