Delhi gas station robbed by masked men

The Merced County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an armed robbery at a Delhi gas station early Friday.

The robbery occurred around 2 a.m. Friday at the Delhi Five Star Travel Plaza at 15406 August Ave.

The two masked me approached the store’s clerk when the clerk went outside. The robbers forced the clerk at gunpoint back into the store and on the floor facing a wall, said Merced County Undersheriff Jason Goins.

The robbers were able to open the register and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the store on foot.

 No injuries were reported from the robbery.

The two male suspects were described as being around 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with slender builds, around 165 to 180 pounds. Their race was not known.
