The Denair High School Ag Shop was broken into Sunday night with the thieves taking thousands of dollars worth of equipment and leaving a trail of damage.
The burglary happened sometime on Sunday at the campus at 3431 Lester Road.
The thief or thieves cut a lock off a back fence and cut the lock off the storage shed.
Stolen in the break-in were a red Electric Range 250 GXT portable welding unit, a black framed and purple sided trailer custom made by the ag students, a gas-welding torch with valves and hoses, two grey welding helmets, a large yellow grinder, a small red grinder, a welding rod, a red Rototiller, an oxygen tank, and an acetylene tank.
The school’s ag department estimated the loss at $15,000.
In leaving the premises the thieves cut through a chain damaging the gate.
