An elderly man had his wallet forcibly taken from him by a teenager during a robbery at Donnelly Park.

The victim sustained a cut during the encounter, but did not require medical attention, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Russ Holeman.

The robbery happened around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Donnelly Park at 600 Pedras Rd.

According to the police report, there were several teenagers at the park and one of them followed the elderly man into the restroom and asked him for some money.

The elderly man told the teenager he wasn’t going to give him any money. The teenager refused to accept that answer and reached into the man’s pocket and took his wallet.

The two struggled briefly over the wallet, which is when the man sustained the cut on his hand.

The teen was able to break away from the man and ran off with his wallet. The wallet was found in the park, but the cash inside was missing, Holeman said.
