A drive-by shooting with gang undertones in Turlock on Friday left one man injured and a search on for the suspected shooter.

The victim was identified only as a 19-year-old man. He sustained a non-life-threatening injury, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Russ Holeman.

The shooting was reported shortly after 2 a.m. Friday outside a home in the 300 block of Angelus Street. The police department learned of the shooting after the victim had been taken to a local hospital by a friend.

Investigators responding to the scene on Angelus found evidence indicating that several shots had been fired in the area. In addition to the victim having been struck, vehicles in the immediate area also sustained damage, Holeman said.

The investigation revealed that an unknown suspect drove by and fired multiple shots striking the victim one time.

Holeman said the investigation indicates this was a gang shooting and that the victim had been specifically targeted by the shooter.
