Hilmar woman stabbed during dispute; suspect arrested
Merced Sheriff

HILMAR — A 22-year-old woman was arrested this week after deputies say she stabbed another woman during a confrontation at a Hilmar home, according to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 9:30 p.m. on April 4 to a residence on Dayton Avenue for a report of a stabbing. They found an adult female victim suffering from several stab wounds to the side of her chest and back. She was taken to a local hospital and has since been released in stable condition, officials said.

Investigators identified the suspect as Alexis Martinez, who deputies say went to the victim’s home to fight over a past dispute. During the altercation, Martinez stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Martinez was later located at a residence in the 16600 block of Longview Avenue in Livingston and taken into custody. She was booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detectives Bureau at 209-385-7472.
