The observation of a suspicious vehicle in a Turlock neighborhood led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle, a handgun, and the arrest of two men.
Turlock Police officers spotted the suspicious vehicle around 7:44 a.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of Noble Lane.
A traffic stop was initiated and a check on the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen out of Modesto, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded handgun and stolen property.
Joseph Lourenco, 30, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft and possession of methamphetamine, heroin, stolen property, and a loaded handgun. Lourenco also had a warrant out for his arrest.
Joshua Figone, 27, was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
