A 38-year-old man is facing felony molesting charges after propositioning a 13-year-old at a Turlock park.

Around 6 p.m. Saturday the Turlock Police Department received a report from a woman who said her daughter had just been accosted by a man at Markley Park in the 1700 block of E. Monte Vista Avenue.

The 13-year-old was in the park when a man came up to her and asked her to perform a sexual act on him, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The girl ran home and told her mother of the encounter. The mother drove to the park and was able to locate the suspect and give his location to the police department, Lewis said.

The suspect was identified as Lemuel Cabatuando, 38. He was arrested on suspicion of felony annoying or molesting a minor. Cabatuando was charged with the felony because he has a previous conviction for a sex offense, Lewis said.
