The Turlock Police Department is looking into the death of a man out at the Moose Lodge RV camping site.

Turlock Police Investigations Sgt. Russ Holeman said the death did not appear “criminal in nature” nor did it appear to be a suicide. Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

The name of the man has not been released, pending next of kin notification. Holeman said he was in his mid 30s.

The man was found shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday at the RV camp site at 4713 W. Main St.

The man’s girlfriend contacted the groundskeeper at the site on Monday to see if he could make contact with him, because she had not seen or heard from him since Thursday.

The groundskeeper checked the RV and got no response when he knocked on the door. He was able to peak through a window and saw the man lying motionless on the floor, Holeman said.

The police, as well as the fire department and emergency medical technicians responded to the scene and the fire department forced entry into the RV.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
