The Turlock Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team was out on Fulkerth Road Tuesday afternoon, attempting to reconstruct a hit and run that left one man dead on the street.
The hit and run was reported at 3:31 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of Fulkerth Road.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released. He sustained fatal injuries from the collision and died at the scene.
The vehicle from the hit and run was described as a small white car, possibly a 2004-2007 Acura. It will have significant damage from the collision.
In addition to speaking with witnesses, the investigators were checking with the area businesses for surveillance footage of the collision.
As of Tuesday evening, the investigation was still in the early stages and the police department did not have any additional information to release.
