A man said he was shot by an unknown suspect who robbed him of jewelry near a Turlock convenience store.

The man sustained a non-life-threatening injury and is expected to recover from his injuries.

The man was dropped off at Emanuel Medical Center with the gunshot wound and the hospital contacted the Turlock Police Department.

The man said he was robbed of some jewelry outside a Quik Stop on Geer Road and then shot.

“Officers followed up with a possible location of the incident and were not able to locate any evidence,” said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Mike Parmley. “Officers were not able to confirm where this incident took place with the limited information they were given.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
