A violent altercation erupted on Tuesday afternoon, leaving one man dead at a park in the heart of downtown Turlock.

What began as a physical confrontation quickly escalated into a tragic scene when one adult man sustained a fatal injury at Central Park, located at the corner of W. Main Street and S. Golden State Boulevard.

The investigation by the Turlock Police Department is ongoing and few details about the incident have been released.

The initial report was of an aggravated assault that turned into a homicide investigation. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name has not been released at this time.

There was no information released about a possible suspect.

The police department did say that it appeared to be an isolated incident.
