A man seen driving on the wrong side of a Turlock road led police officers on a pursuit that came to an end in Livingston when the suspect was finally apprehended.

Shortly after midnight Saturday a Turlock Police officer noticed a vehicle being driven in the wrong direction of traffic in the 1500 block of E. Tuolumne Road. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as Francisco Meza, 29, refused to stop.

The pursuit found its way to Highway 99, where the suspect drove southbound at a high rate of speed. The police department called off the pursuit around Livingston.

The California Highway Patrol spotted the vehicle in Livingston and was able to make a traffic stop and take Meza into custody.

Meza was arrested on suspicion of felony pursuit and driving while intoxicated.
