An unknown individual attempted to break into a residence on Linwood Avenue but was thwarted when the resident awoke to the noise.

The prowler was trying to break down the door of a home at 500 W. Linwood Avenue at Avena Bella around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The resident awoke from the noise and began yelling, which sent the prowler fleeing, the police department reported.

No individuals were located in the immediate area. No description of the suspect was available.
