Downtown bar shooting suspect
Police are still searching for the person caught on camera leaving the scene of a shooting at a downtown bar on Feb. 19.

The Turlock Police Department continues to search for the suspect who shot seven people after a fight inside a downtown Turlock bar.

The identity of the suspect from the February shooting is still unknown.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 100 block of South First Street.

The suspect had been in a fight with an individual inside a downtown bar and then later opened fire upon a crowd outside the bar. He was targeting the individual he had fought with, according to the investigation, but acted “without regard for the others,” said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Michael Parmley.

In all, seven people were injured in the shooting. The wounds were not considered life-threatening and ranged from a grazing wound to one shot in the face, Parmley said.

The shooting victims have been cooperating with detectives in an effort to identify and capture the shooter.

The suspected shooter is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male between 25 to 30 years of age. Video of the incident shows his hair style was unique in that the sides of his head appeared to be shaved and he had what appeared to be a short ponytail. He was described as wearing a white sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The vehicle the suspect drove is described as a white newer model Mercedes Benz sedan. The vehicle was last seen fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed, heading southbound on South Golden State Boulevard from the intersection of East Main Street.
