The Turlock Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man with a bullet wound to his leg and three suspects on the run.

Shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday the Turlock Police Department received multiple reports of shots fired at the Park Knolls apartment complex at 1100 Pedras Road.

Officers arriving at the scene found a 21-year-old man near a dumpster inside the complex with a gunshot wound to the leg, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis. The wound was not considered life-threatening and the victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Details of what led up to the shooting or any possible motive have not been released.

Investigators did find a handgun at the scene, but are awaiting ballistic results to determine if it was the gun used by the perpetrators.

At least three men were involved in the shooting, Lewis said. They were seen fleeing the apartment complex in a dark-colored sedan. One suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, wearing a hoodie and dark clothing.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Turlock Police Detective Frank Navarro at 668-5550 ext. 6619.
