Shooting near Highway 99 injures one

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened on the outskirts of Turlock and left one person hospitalized.

The shooting was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 25 on W. Taylor Road and the Highway 99 offramp.

When deputies arrived, they located a Hispanic male adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. He’s listed in stable but critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit was notified and assumed control of the investigation.

A suspect has not been identified.
