A report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in a Turlock neighborhood for hours led to the arrest of a man on stalking charges, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Christopher Petros, 52, was arrested on suspicion of stalking, violating a court order and resisting arrest.

The incident began around 5 p.m. Friday when a caller reported seeing a man sitting in a parked vehicle in the same spot in the 2400 block of Mountain Springs Drive for a few hours.

The first officers to arrive spotted the vehicle and recognized the driver as Petros, according to the police report.

As the officers arrived Petros began to drive away, but took the wrong way in a roundabout at N. Kilroy and Terra Linda Drive. According to the Turlock Police Department, Petros went the wrong way to intentionally ram a Chevy Sports Utility Vehicle that was coming around in the roundabout.

The police department stated the driver of the Chevy SUV was Petros’ former domestic partner. No injuries were reported from the incident.

Following the crash Petros got out of his vehicle and started to leave the area. He was apprehended near a soccer field after a short foot pursuit and taken into custody without further incident.
