Suspect arrested after pushing officer

A 61-year-old man was facing charges of battery after pushing a police officer who had come to speak to him about harassing customers as they left a Turlock salon.

Around 10 a.m. July 17, the Turlock Police Department was notified of a man outside a salon in the 800 block of W. Hawkeye who was harassing customers.

The officer responding to the call was speaking to Richard Moutinho, 61, when Moutinho suddenly pushed the officer with clenched fists, according to the police report.

The officer was able to take Moutinho into custody without further incident and he was booked into Stanislaus County Jail.
