The Turlock Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store on Monday afternoon.

The robbery was reported at 2:31 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of East Avenue. There were no injuries reported.

A clerk at the store said the suspect was standing in front of the register and pulled out a small black gun and ordered the clerk to hand over the money in the register. The clerk complied and the suspect ran out the store.

The suspect ran westbound down an alley south of East Avenue that runs from Rose to Minaret, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley. The suspect was gone on arrival and officers were not able to locate the suspect upon checking the area.

The suspect was described as a white male adult wearing a black Raiders sweater and a black hat with a red emblem.
