A potentially armed suspect robbed a Del Taco in Turlock Sunday night while patrons ate nearby.

The robbery at the Turlock fast food restaurant at 2401 Fulkerth Road was reported at 8:41 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect entered the eatery and placed an order for food. He then whispered to the female employee to hand over all the money in the register.

The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No weapon was seen during the robbery, but the suspect did “act as if he was armed,” said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis. The employee told the officers the suspected acted as if he was holding a weapon underneath his large camouflage jacket.

The eatery did have several customers at the time, but no injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late 20s. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds. He was described as having a stocky build. He has short, black hair and a dark complexion.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 668-5550.
