Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A man stopped for a traffic violation Tuesday night was arrested for drug possession.

Jose Mota, 28, was stopped around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of N. First Street for a traffic violation, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Mota was found to be driving with a suspended license and he was placed under arrest. During a search officers found he was in illegal possession of Xanax and Methadone. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on possession charges.
