The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department was called out to the area of Geer Road and Santa Fe Road Monday morning for a report of a fatal incident involving a train.
The deceased appears to have stepped in front of a northbound Amtrak train around 8 a.m. Monday. An empty vehicle was found nearby the scene.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending positive identification and next of kin notification
The train was stopped in the area for several hours for the investigation.
