A Stanislaus County Superior Court judge has set an August trial date for the Denair teenager accused of stabbing her parents, leading to her father’s death.

On Wednesday Judge John Freeland ordered for the trial to begin Aug. 6 for 19-year-old Shanna Wills, who stands accused of murder for the death of her father, Kenneth Wills, and attempted murder for the attack on her mother, Susan Wills, on May 8, 2011.

Wills is also facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

Wills was 17 years-old at the time of the attack, but is being tried as an adult. A preliminary hearing held last year resulted in a judge’s verdict that there was enough cause to hold Wills over for trial.

The trial is expected to last about three weeks.
