May 17: The Turlock Police Department processed 201 calls for service during the three shifts covering May 17, 2025.
Day shift took two reports, one for graffiti and one injury accident. This was a quiet Saturday, regarding actual reports being generated. Officers were busy with calls for service, but most of those were quality of life type calls and suspicious person/vehicle calls. During this shift officers investigated a graffiti call, but no suspects were discovered. Officers also responded to an injury accident. The injury consisted of complaints of pain, and nothing life threatening. Aside from the above listed calls, officers spent time in the area of the farmers market, being visible to all attending. They also spent some time in the area of Columbia Park for the pool opening.
Swing shift took nine reports, including a weapon violation, two juvenile runaways and vandalism. The shift started out quiet and then got busy a few hours in. The hospital called asking for extra patrol due to a juvenile neglect case that Ceres PD was investigating. A 3-year-old came in to the hospital overdosing on Fentanyl. The father was causing a disturbance so we helped out. A male was drunk and causing a disturbance at his father’s house, who he is restrained from per a court order. He also had a felony warrant for his arrest so he went to jail. A female was under the influence of methamphetamine, trespassing at a gas station, refusing to leave and yelling at customers. She also had a warrant for her arrest out of Sacramento. She was booked.
Graveyard shift took three reports including one for narcotics and a driving while intoxicated. Officers responded to a security check after a female called police to report her boyfriend hit her. The female hung up on dispatch and did not provide any further details. When officers arrived at the location a male took off running from officers. A perimeter was set up and the drone was utilized but the male was not located. Additionally, the female had left the residence before police arrived and left her cell phone behind. We were unable to locate either party to further investigate the call. An officer contacted a group of people outside of a closed business. One of the subjects had warrants and was arrested. An officer also witnessed a vehicle swerving on the roadway and made a traffic stop. The driver was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and had a suspended license for prior DUIs. He had a BAC over .08 and was taken to jail for DWI.
May 18: The Turlock Police Department processed 177 calls for service during the three shifts covering May 18, 2025.
Day shift took seven reports, including two for auto burglary, an auto theft, a missing person and a domestic disturbance. Sunday was busier than the prior day, especially towards the end of the shift. During this shift, officers investigated a missing person in which the reporting party stated a 54-year-old male never showed up for work or his home. He has never done this before. As officers were completing the report, the male returned home. He gave no explanation as to where he was. The call of the day came in at the end of our shift. TPD received reports of a stabbing that occurred in the south east portion of town. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a female, with three stab wounds. It was also discovered that the incident occurred in the county pocket. The sheriff’s department arrived and took over the investigation.
Swing shift took eight reports, including two narcotics arrests, a weapon violation and a domestic battery. The shift started out busy with officers assisting dayshift with the stabbing call which turned out to be in the S/O jurisdiction. The shift was steady the rest of the evening with all eight reports taken resulting in arrests. Officers responded to a laundry mat for a report of a male wearing a ski mask possibly in possession of a gun in a bag. He was contacted and detained. Officers immediately noticed he had a gun magazine in his pocket. The gun was located in his bag along with ammunition. The male was a felon and on probation out of Oakland for assault and weapons charges. He was booked in jail. A male was passed out behind the wheel of his car at a green light. The investigation revealed he was under the influence of marijuana while driving. He was arrested and booked after a blood draw was obtained at DMC.
Graveyard shift took one report, a driving while intoxicated. Officers responded to a fast food drive-thru for the report of a drunk driver who rear-ended another customer while in line. When officers arrived, they located the driver exiting the drive-thru and stopped him. He displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He provided a breath sample that was over two times the limit. He was arrested and booked into jail.
